Are There Any Small Rural Towns In Orange County California?

We are moving to Orange County, CA. My husband has a job in Laguna Beach. We are moving from Ventura County and laways wanted to live in a town like Ojai where we could have farm animals, like a horse and some chickens. Are there any small rural towns with a down to earth feel in Orange County? Thanks.

I’m afraid to say that the answer is probably not. There are places here and there where you can have horses but no matter where you live you will likely be very close to a suburban area at best.
The northern parts of OC are pretty intensely urban. The further South in Orange County you get the less intensely urban it becomes but the suburban sprawl pretty much stretches all the way tho the northern boarder of San Diego County (Camp Pendleton).
Orange County is many things. “Down to earth”… not so much.

I’m not sure how many there are. But take a lookie at the inland part of Lake Forest where they have lots of heavy trees for the purpose of cooling down the temperature around the homes.
And up El Toro road inland where it becomes the S18.
